It’s here at last.
The first ‘Seize the Day’ podcast is now online. It features Phil Prior talking to Brandon Dickerson, lead pastor of Ecclesia, a church that meets in a theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, right at the heart of the film industry.
I’m also talking in this podcast about resources to help churches and Christian groups respond to the recession.

It’s a bold move.
At least, we think it is, given the economic downturn / recession / credit crunch.
We’re giving away all our training courses free of charge as digital downloads.
We hope that by making these courses freely available, they’ll be used more widely around the world by people who, perhaps, can’t afford to pay for quality resources.
Who knows? They may even be used more in the UK by churches and home groups that are feeling the squeeze.
Well, that’s what we’re hoping. To see what’s available, go to www.facingthechallenge.org

‘Seize the Day’ is a new series of podcasts from Facing the Challenge, coming at the beginning of February.
The number of people who attend church is continuing to nose-dive. The Church communicates effectively with people who are on its fringes, but for the people beyond those fringes, it isn’t even on their radar. Many of the people around us are completely untouched by the message of Jesus.
The purpose of ‘Seize the Day’ is to help churches and their leaders and potential leaders to be better equipped to reach out to our world today – to all the people who are currently beyond our fringe. It’s based on more than thirty years of practical experience of mission around the world, ten years of experience with the ‘Facing the Challenge’ courses, and numberless encounters with people outside the orbit of church through films such as ‘The Da Vinci Code,’ and ‘The Passion of the Christ.’
I want these podcasts to serve you in your church or ministry. Please use this blog post to comment on who you’d like to hear from and what kinds of issues you’d like these podcasts to talk about.

- Grow as a person of faith
- EXperience one day a week of formal training
This position would suit someone graduating this summer, perhaps from a media studies course.
