The American Christian Bible Study market - a survey
People who have used 'Facing the Challenge' resources have been highly satisfied with them, and have recommended them to others.
Over the summer of 2007, Phil Prior of Solent University carried out a survey of how American churches source Bible Study materials. (This survey was carried out as part of his MA Marketing course).
We're making the results of this survey available here, in the hope that they will be useful to other organizations and churches as well as to us.
The high points:
- Most respondents were aged between 46 and 55
- The majority were pastors or ministry leaders
- The average size of the churches represented was between 100 and 250 people
- Most respondents said that their churches are growing
- The majority do buy Bible study materials, with a preference for materials that include CDs, DVDs and mp3s.
- The main reasons why people buy particular resources include previous experience (- a trusted author) and recommendation from another church leader
- People who have used 'Facing the Challenge' resources have been highly satisfied with them and have recommended them to others
- Most respondents have a home broadband connection or home wireless broadband connection
Phil has compiled this MS® PowerPoint presentation summarising the results of the survey.
The full results (minus any personal identifying information) are available in this MS® Excel spreadsheet.
